Draft EDC Minutes August 20,2010 Page 3 of 3 Motion/Second: Commissioner Belting moved and Commissioner Larson seconded a motion of support towards the development of a housing assistance program containing a mix of loan concepts, including a demolition loan option. In addition, the EDC supports an amount of$150,000 of funding towards this program until further review of the program. Motion Carried: 4 Ayes 0 Nays 7. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS Commissioner Johnson reminded everyone that Festival in the Park is tomorrow. She added that school is about to start and hopes that we keep safety in mind. Ms. Steinmetz added that the Police Department provided a full page of back to school safety tips in the Fall Mounds View Matters. Commissioner Johnson added that she has been using the trails along County Road 10 lately and that they are terrific. 8. REPORTS OF STAFF Mr. Roberts provided a verbal updates for Item 8A (update on Select Senior Living and Coventry Senior Living projects. Commissioner Johnson asked why there is a crane on the residential property along County Road 10 near Woodale. Ms. Steinmetz said that the landowner recently demolished the vacant home on the property Ms. Steinmetz provided verbal updates for Items 8B, 8C&8D (Mounds View business news, IPavailable business sites in Mounds View and upcoming events). Commissioner Johnson asked how many foreclosures are in Mounds View. Ms. Steinmetz said there are currently about 110 foreclosures. Commissioner Johnson mentioned that there would be a 5K fun run and pancake breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 18th. The event is a fundraiser for the local youth hockey association. 9. UPCOMING EDC MEETING The next regular EDC meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 17, 2010 at 7:30am. 10.
