CALL TO ORDER: <br /> Chairperson Greg Belting called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. <br /> 2. ROLL CALL: <br /> Members Present: Dr. Greg Belting, Jackie Entsminger, Tom Field, and Stan McDonald <br /> Members Absent: David Fox, Jason Helgemoe, Toni Johnson <br /> 110 Staff Present: Economic Development Coordinator Aaron Backman <br /> Others Present: Community Development Director Jim Ericson <br /> 3. APPROVAL OF EDC MINUTES: <br /> Motion/Second: Field moved and McDonald seconded the approval of the June 20, 2003 EDC <br /> minutes. <br /> Motion Carried: 4 Ayes 0 Nays <br /> 4. SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> No Special Business Scheduled. <br /> 5. REPORT OF COMMISSIONERS, STAFF AND EDA LIAISON <br /> A. Commissioner Reports: McDonald mentioned that Dick Fast who works for Minnesota <br /> Technology would be a good presenter at an EDC meeting. McDonald will discuss if Mr. Fast <br /> could make a presentation in the Fall. <br /> B. Report of EDA Liaison: Backman reported that the City has hired a new City Administrator—Kurt <br /> Ulrich. He began on July 21St and served the City Administrator for the City of Champlin. <br /> C. TCN Chamber of Commerce Update: The Chamber held is annual retreat on June 26th at <br /> Medtronic's world headquarters building in Fridley. We discussed trends affecting chambers and <br /> i accomplishments in 2002/3. Some of the successes include a successful merger (Southern <br /> Anoka, and New Brighton-Mounds View); increasing members from 313 to 428; hiring a <br /> membership/marketing director, paying off the line of credit and holding a successful Gala.
