<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6285 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A LETTER TO RAMSEY COUNTY <br />REQUESTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE SILVER LAKE ROAD <br />SIDEWALK PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has a trailway cost participation policy that <br />states the County will be assigned 75% of the cost of the adjacent municipality; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on March 22, 2004, the City Council authorized the <br />preparation of a preliminary feasibility report for the installation of a sidewalk <br />along Silver Lake Road from County Road H to County Road 10; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on April 5, 2004 the City held a meeting with Ramsey County <br />to discuss the coordination of the proposed sidewalk project with the mill and <br />overlay project the County had programmed for later this summer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at said meeting, the City asked if the County would finance a <br />portion of the City sidewalk project, the County declined; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to continue pursuit of financial assistance from Ramsey <br />County, the next logical action would be for the City to formally request financial <br />assistance from the County, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a sidewalk will promote a safe pedestrian corridor along <br />Silver Lake Road to aid in the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said sidewalk will provide continuity of the of the County's <br />pedestrian corridor system by connecting existing systems. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City <br />Council does hereby direct Staff to submit a letter to Ramsey County requesting <br />support and financial assistance for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Project. <br /> <br />Adopted this 14th day of June 2004. _-.---- ..-- <br />~--_. 7 ....- <br />(ATTEST) ,/ '_"" .------ ~. _/6'.=-/ <br /> <br /> <br />/e1:~r r:; u (L <br /> <br />Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator - <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />
