S . <br /> EDA RESOLUTION NO. 08-EDA-245 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> MOUNDS VIEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING A BRANDING SERVICES AND PUBLIC <br /> COMMUNICATIONS/MARKETING PLAN REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) <br /> AND TO AUTHORIZE DISTRIBUTION AND PUBLICATION OF THE RFP <br /> WHEREAS, in January 2008, the Mounds View Economic Development <br /> Commission (EDC) began monthly discussions about Mounds View public <br /> communications and marketing; and, <br /> WHEREAS, between February and April 2008, the EDC completed an <br /> internal public communication/marketing internal assessment and developed <br /> public communications/marketing target audiences and goals; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on April 7, 2008 the City Council and EDC held a <br /> redevelopment roundtable Work Session and one of the next steps suggested at <br /> the roundtable was to develop a marketing strategy geared towards developers <br /> • and brokers, and; <br /> WHEREAS, on May 16, 2008, the EDC reviewed and approved a draft <br /> Branding Services and Public Communications/Marketing Plan Request for <br /> Proposals (RFP); and, <br /> WHEREAS, the EDA is considering a Request for Proposals (RFP) <br /> process to obtain a highly qualified consultant or firm that would facilitate a <br /> branding exercise for the EDA followed by the development of a public <br /> communications and marketing plan; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed schedule is that the RFP would be sent to <br /> highly qualified consultants or firms on May 28, 2008 and responses would be <br /> due to the City by June 27, 2008. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Mounds View <br /> Economic Development Authority hereby directs and authorizes staff to proceed <br /> with a Request for Proposals (RFP) and to authorize distribution and publication <br /> of the RFP on May 28, 2008. <br />
