<br />. <br /> <br />2004 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />EMPLOYEE SUGGESTION PROGRAM <br /> <br />The objective of the City of Mounds View Employee Suggestion Program is to implement suggestions <br />and allow for the identification of issues, which may contribute to the improvement of public relations, <br />efficiency and economy of the city government, employer-employee relationships, and employee <br />satisfaction and welfare. The following are the objectives and benefits of the program and are the <br />criteria by which suggestions will be judged: <br /> <br />. Give satisfaction of being "part of the team". <br />. Provide better communications within the city. <br />. Create a better understanding of city operations. <br />· Reduce costs. <br />. Increase efficiency and quality of work. <br />. Eliminate waste/conserve energy. <br />· Promote safety. <br />. Promote better employee-employer relations. <br />. Improve working conditions. <br />. Improve service to our citizens. <br /> <br />Eligibility of a Suggestion: All City of Mounds View employees (regular, part-time, seasonal, <br />temporary, interns and on-call) are eligible to submit suggestions. <br /> <br />Items listed below will not be considered suggestions eligible for an award: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. Any suggestion made by a supervisory employee that is within the scope of that employee's <br />normal work duties (as outlined in the employee's job description or as determined by the <br />employee's supervisor). <br />· Personal grievances. <br />. Personal pay and classification matters. <br />. Suggestions calling for the enforcement of existing rules. <br />. Employees serving on special committees are not eligible for an award for suggestions falling <br />with in the scope of the committee's assignment. <br /> <br />Joint suggestions by two or more employees are permitted. Each suggestor must sign the form. All <br />awards will be divided equally. Employees who leave the city service in good standing after having <br />submitted a suggestion are still eligible for an award. Duplicate suggestions received at the same <br />time shall share in any benefits from its implementation. <br /> <br />Submission Process: The employee submits a completed suggestion form to designated contact or <br />send the suggestion through an e-mail incorporating all questions asked on the approved form to the <br />Administration Department. <br /> <br />Award Presentation: The employee(s) will be notified if the suggestion has been accepted and will be <br />presented with a gift certificate for Mounds View area restaurants and retailers. All awards must have <br />City Council approval prior to its presentation. <br /> <br />Program Expiration: This program is developed for the benefit of the City's 2005 Budget Process and, <br />as such, expires December 31,2004 unless the program is reauthorized by specific City Council <br />action. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />
