<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6369 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LETTER AGREEMENT <br />WITH BRAA FOR THE INVESTIGATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF VEHICLE <br />SAFETY MEASURES AT PROGRAM AVENUE/COUNTY ROAD H2 CURVE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the mid to late 1980's, the Business Park was developed and <br />Program was constructed and connected into County Road H2 creating a curve; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said curve has a radius of only one hundred feet (100') and vehicles <br />traveling this curve at speeds as minimal as twenty miles per hour (20mph) may <br />experience difficulty in staying in the lane of travel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff included $25,000 in the proposed 2005 Budget, and said funds <br />are intended to perform a study to determine the best corrective action and to <br />implement any recommendations from the study; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 5,2004, the engineering firm of BRAA submitted a letter <br />of agreement to proceed with the investigation and development of vehicle safety <br />measures at Program Avenue/County Road H2 Curve by performing a survey, base <br />map, existing conditions, short and long term solutions, and preparing a report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the work outlined in said letter of agreement is <br />$9,200; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said estimated cost of $9,200 for the investigation and development <br />of vehicle safety measures at Program Avenue/County Road H2 Curve by performing a <br />survey, base map, existing conditions, short and long term solutions, and preparing a <br />report will be derived from the proposed 2005 budget (Account No. 100-4470-5140) <br />Repair, Streets Account of the Pavement Management Department. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. The execution of a letter agreement with BRAA in the estimated amount of <br />$9,200 for the investigation of, and preparation of a feasibility report and <br />any other planning phase aspects for the implementation of vehicle safety <br />measures at the curve on Program Avenue where it intersects with County <br />Road H2, is hereby approved. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to execute said <br />Letter of Agreement. <br />
