<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6374 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO PARTICIPATE IN A HAZARD MITIGATION PLANNING <br />PROCESS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Ramsey Division of Emergency Management <br />and Homeland Security is participating in the all-hazard mitigation planning <br />process as established under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, Pub. L. No. <br />106-390; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act requires all counties and municipalities to develop <br />and maintain all-hazard mitigation plans either independently or on a county- <br />wide, multi-jurisdictional basis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such plans must be well integrated and coordinated to <br />account for the fact that hazards in one jurisdiction impact on other nearby <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act establishes a framework for the development of an <br />all-hazard mitigation plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act as part of the planning process requires public <br />involvement and local coordination among neighboring local units of government <br />and businesses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the plan must include a mitigation strategy including goals <br />and objectives and an action plan identifying specific mitigation projects and <br />costs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the plan must include an implementation and maintenance <br />process including plan updates, integration of the plan into other planning <br />documents and how the County will maintain public participation and <br />coordination; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County Division of Emergency Management and <br />Homeland Security has indicated its willingness to coordinate these efforts <br />should the municipality so desire; and <br />
