RESOLUTION 8391 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE 2015 TWIN CITIES GATEWAY <br /> MEMBER CITY MARKETING GRANT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is a member of the local Convention and <br /> Tourism Bureau, Twin Cities Gateway; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has enacted a tax on lodging within the City to <br /> help fund Twin Cities Gateway, along with eight other member cities, in accordance with <br /> Minnesota Statutes Section 469.190; and <br /> WHEREAS, Twin Cities Gateway's Member City Marketing Grant program provides <br /> each member city with an annual grant based on the percentage of lodging taxes collected <br /> from the prior year; and <br /> WHEREAS, upon the executed "Mounds View 2015 Member City Marketing Grant <br /> Agreement" between Twin Cities Gateway and the City of Mounds View, the City will <br /> receive $6,504.00 in grant funding in 2015; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is responsible to disperse the grant funds to <br /> the community festival(s) and/or event(s) that the City wants to support; and <br /> WHEREAS, the grant funds shall be used for marketing and promotional efforts that <br /> extend beyond the City's borders in order to draw tourists to the community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br /> hereby accept the 2015 Twin Cities Gateway Member City Marketing Grant in the amount <br /> of $6,504.00 for the marketing and promotion of the August 22, 2015, Mounds View <br /> Festival in the Park Celebration. <br /> Adopted this 13th day of April, 2015. <br /> 1 <br /> ( <br /> J Flahe ;M. • . <br /> ATTEST: <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
