<br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 5628 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF NEW YORK MAYOR <br />GIULIANI'S LEADERSHIP AND THE COURAGE OF ALL <br />THE RESCUE WORKERS RESPONDING TO THE <br />SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 TRAGEDY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the tragic events of September 11, 2001 will forever be etched in the <br />minds of all Americans and freedom loving people throughout the world, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we struggle to find reason and meaning in the hateful taking of <br />innocent lives, children and parents, brothers and sisters, civilians and military, <br />public servants and emergency personnel, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the destruction of the World Trade Center, the damage to the <br />Pentagon and the airliner in Pennsylvania struck a blow at the economic <br />foundations of our country and the world economy, and, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New York, led by Mayor Giuliani and the Police and Fire <br />Departments of the City and surrounding jurisdictions in New York responded <br />with tremendous acts of compassion and courage to the immediate dangers, <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, through their actions, words and examples have united all freedom <br />loving people in their resolve to ensure that there will not be any other similar <br />disasters in the future, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, their counterparts in Washington, DC and Pennsylvania have shown <br />similar courage, commitment and compassion, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, citizens in our City of Mounds View appreciate the significance and <br />symbolism of the historic events of September 11, 2001 and the heroic response <br />by the citizens of New York, the District of Columbia and the State of <br />Pennsylvania, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Mounds View, on behalf <br />of all of it's citizens, do offer our heartfelt condolences to the thousands of people <br />and families that lost loved ones in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Mounds Views extends it's <br />appreciation to the thousands of rescue workers involved in the response and <br />recovery efforts, and, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Mounds View especially <br />commends and thanks New York Mayor Rudolf Giuliani for his leadership and <br />gallantry under heartrending circumstances, thereby enabling all people <br />throughout the world to begin the healing process, and, <br />
