RESOLUTION 8421 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH HYDRO-KLEAN LLC FOR THE 2015 <br /> SANITARY SEWER SLIP LINING PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the municipal sanitary sewer system contains approximately 44 miles of <br /> trunk sewer that is predominately constructed during the 1960's and early 1970's using clay <br /> pipe; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has an inspection and maintenance program <br /> that prioritizes sanitary sewer pipe segments as candidates for slip lining; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works has prepared bidding documents in house for use in public <br /> bidding to construct slip lining of the sanitary sewer pipe candidates. <br /> WHEREAS, Hydro-Klean LLC from Des Moines, Iowa submitted the lowest bid of <br /> $240.030.81; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staff recommends approving a construction contract with Hydro-Klean <br /> LLC to perform the slip lining work. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The bid proposal for $240,030.81 submitted by Hydro-Klean LLC from Des Moines, Iowa for <br /> the 2015 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project (City Project No. 2012-002) is hereby <br /> approved. <br /> 2. City Staff is authorized to prepare a construction contract agreement between the City of <br /> Mounds View and Hydro-Klean LLC for$240,030.81. <br /> 3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of <br /> the City, to execute and enter into a construction contract agreement with Hydro-Klean LLC <br /> for said project at said price. <br /> 4. Monies for the Project shall be funded by the Sanitary Sewer Enterprise Fund (730-4823- <br /> 7050) in an amount not to exceed $249,630.81, which includes a 4% construction <br /> contingency of $9,600 for minor work associated with project unknowns, and quantity over- <br /> runs. <br /> Adopt this 26rd day of May, 2015. <br /> pe4laherty, a'• <br /> ATTEST: QgA.A..__—•--- <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
