RESOLUTION NO. 8449 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING BOLTON & MENK TO PERFORM ENGINEERING DESIGN <br /> SERVICES AND PREPARE BIDDING DOCUMENTS FOR AREA I OF THE STREET <br /> AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, on October 22, 2007, the City Council adopted Resolution 7176 <br /> establishing the Street and Utility Improvement Program (Program) which includes nine Street <br /> and Utility Improvement Project areas identified as Areas A through I totaling 25.9 miles of <br /> streets, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Areas A through H have been or are under construction and total 22.6 miles <br /> of the Program, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Area I is the next project area to be constructed and is programmed for the <br /> 2016 construction season, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Bolton & Menk has provided a fee proposal to perform engineering design <br /> services and prepare bidding documents for the Area I project and Public Works engineering <br /> staff recommends Bolton & Menk to perform these services. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota, as follows: <br /> 1. Bolton & Menk is authorized to perform engineering design services and prepare bidding <br /> documents for Area I of the Street and Utility Improvement Program (City Project No. <br /> 2016-001). Compensation will be on an hourly basis plus reimbursable expenses with <br /> an estimated maximum fee of$165,860. <br /> 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute all appropriate documents <br /> and enter into a professional services agreement, for and on behalf of the City, with Bolton <br /> & Menk to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. <br /> 3. A contingency of $16,500 (10%) is approved for additional work or tests needed during <br /> the performance of the design services and requires pre-approval by the Director of <br /> Public Works. <br /> 4. The Mayor and City Administrator, staff and consultants are hereby authorized and <br /> directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in <br /> order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution. <br /> Adopted this 24th day of August, 2015 <br /> ac.
