<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5871 <br /> <br />APPROVE PRELIMINARY FEASIBILITY REPORT, WAIVE PUBLIC <br />IMPROVEMENT HEARING, ORDER PROJECT, APPROVE EXECUTION OF <br />SUPPLEMENTAL LETTER OF AGREEMENT WITH SHORT, ELLIOTT, <br />HENDRICKSON INC., AUTHORIZE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATER TOWER REHABILITATION PROJECT <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 14, 2001, an evaluation report for the <br />water tower was submitted to the City by the engineering firm of Short, Elliot, <br />Hendrickson Inc. (SEH); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the report indicated that the estimated cost of the <br />project is $36,800, but only $25,000 is budgeted for the Water Tower <br />Rehabilitation Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, based on this funding shortfall staff recommends that <br />the amount of $25,000 be utilized for the 2002 Well Rehabilitation Project and <br />that the 2003 Budget be adopted to include sufficient funds for financing the <br />entire Water Tower Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the financing for this project will be derived entirely <br />from the City of Mounds View Enterprise Fund and that assessments are not a <br />funding source; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the firm of Short, Elliott, Hendrickson Inc. has <br />submitted a supplemental letter agreement to the City for services associated <br />with development of plans and specifications and bidding services. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1, The evaluation report for the water tower that was submitted to the <br />City by the engineering firm of Short, Elliot, Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) <br />finds the improvements to be necessary, cost effective, and <br />feasible is hereby approved. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Said improvements are hereby ordered and shall hereafter be <br />known and referred to as the Water Tower Rehabilitation Project. <br />Said ordering of the improvements shall be valid for a period of <br />eighteen (18) months from the date of adoption of this resolution. <br /> <br />3. It is hereby ordered that the Water Tower Rehabilitation Project <br />shall be made without a public hearing being that the entire cost of <br />
