<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 5928 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A TEMPORARY COVERAGE ARRANGEMENT FOR POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE NEEDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 19, 2002, the Police Administrative Assistant resigned; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 8, 2001, Resolution 5626 was passed, which provides for 5-10% <br />additional compensation for an employee assuming 75% or more of the duties of a position outside <br />of his or her assigned job classification for two moths or longer; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Records Clerk has taken responsibility for the primary responsibilities <br />of the Administrative Assistant, including those of Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) as mandated <br />by the State of Minnesota; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, with the December 30th, 2002, departure of a temporary worker hired through an <br />employment agency, the part-time Community Service Officer (CSO) is willing to work full time to <br />help cover the miscellaneous administrative needs of the police department; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the past, when this identical situation has been encountered, the <br />administrative needs of the police department have best been served by providing the Police <br />Records Clerk additional compensation under the policy for performing the additional duties of the <br />Administrative Assistant; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under similar circumstances the part-time CSO has been enlisted to work full- <br />time hours, during which time full-time benefits would accrue, in order that all the miscellaneous <br />administrative duties within the police department would be handled; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does hereby <br />authorize the Police Records Clerk to work out of classification by assuming responsibility for the <br />duties of the Police Administrative Assistant, and authorizes compensation of an additional 10% of <br />paid wages, retroactive to July 19, 2002; and, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br />authorize the part-time CSO to work full-time hours, and accrue benefits at a full-time rate while <br />working within her current classification, during the time this temporary arrangement is in effect. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Adopted this 13th day of January 2003. <br /> <br />--7 <br />.- I <br /> <br />C'-" / ~~ <br />_ >''2~.:.../'::.'~ ..", <br />Jerry Lin~e, Mayer<>' <br />.,~.../ ;/~... v........ <br />/ / <br /> <br />/" <br /> <br />I" <br />,,J C.v'~ C:::.-"\~~81'~ <br />James Ericson, Interim City Administrator <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />Motion by: Marty <br />Second by: Gunn <br /> <br />Linke: Aye <br />Quick: Nay <br />Stigney: Nay <br />Marty: Aye <br />Gunn: Aye <br />
