Greg Lee <br />City of Mounds Vicw <br />December 23. 2002 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />The first phasc of the project scoping will be thc completion of preliminary surveys and preparation <br />of a Feasibility Report. The Feasibility Report will include preliminary design for the three <br />alternative walkway systems and cost estimates to assist the City in determining the best altemative <br />sidewalk/trail. <br /> <br />Following the Feasibility Report, it is proposed to have a Public Informational meeting to discuss the <br />project with the affected residents and to obtain input so that their concerns can be investigated and <br />included in the project. Based on comments received from the rcsidents and the City. the t.ksign <br />developed in the preliminary work will be refined and ddailed for bidding purposes. Coordination <br />and permit approvals from Ramsey County will he included in the final design phase. The bidding <br />services will include the distribution of plans and specifications, answering plan holders' questions, <br />tabulation of bids, preparation of a leller of recommendation. and preparation of the l~ontract <br />documents. <br /> <br />The project scope also does not include construction services. Following the approval of plans and <br />specifications. we will "vork with you and develop a scope for the Construction Engineering Services <br />Typically, these services will include contract administration, projcct coordination, review of <br />payment applications, construction staking, rcsident project representative. final project review and <br />closeout. and as-built drawings. <br /> <br />The scope of our services is outlined on the attached Ex.hibit A. The scope identifies all major project <br />tasks. project deliverables and i.lssumptions. <br /> <br />Costs <br /> <br />We propose to be compensated for the scope of work proposcd in this Agreement on an hourly basis. <br />Compensation \vill br based on the hourly cost of personneL plus the reimbursable expenses, <br />including reproductions, mileage and equipment. It is estimated that the cost will not exceed <br />$2L35-t-O. As the project develops, we will review the costs to determine if. based on scope ;:hangc. <br />a n~vision to the Project Costs is required. <br /> <br />Our estimated cost for the work is as follows: <br /> <br />Preliminary Surveys.
