<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5940 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING THE 2003 SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS POSITIONS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5546 requires that seasonal positions must be <br />approved by the Mounds View City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Seasonal Employees benefit the City by providing labor services <br />that are relatively less expensive and are available during periods of greater labor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View Public Works Department does have a <br />need to hire seasonal employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is recommending that seasonal <br />positions be approved for three periods throughout 2003; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said periods are: Summer, Fall, and Winter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolution is consistent with the requirements in Resolution No. <br />5546; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. The 2003 Summer Seasonal Public Works Positions are approved - a <br />total of ten (10) positions. These positions would start in approximately <br />mid to late May 2003 and terminate in mid to late August 2003. <br /> <br />2. The 2003 Fall Seasonal Public Works Position is approved - a total of one <br />(1) position. This position would start approximately in mid to late August <br />2003 and terminate near the end of November 2003. <br /> <br />3. The 2003 Winter Seasonal Public Works Position is approved - a total of <br />one (1) position. This position would start approximately in early <br />December 2003 and terminate near the end of February 2004. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />All Public Works seasonal positions will be filled, with new hires starting at <br />the hourly rate of $9.75/hr with the possibility of advancing to $10.25/hr <br />after one month of satisfactory performance. Returning seasonal workers <br />will be compensated at rate of $1 0.50/hr. <br /> <br />5. Each position will work forty (40) hours per week; however the Fall and <br />Winter positions may work less than forty (40) hours per week. <br />
