POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Position Title: Engineering Intern <br />Department: Public Works -Administration <br />Accountable to: Director of Public Works <br />Status: Non-Union <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITON <br />To assist the Public Works Administration Department with daily routine operations as required. <br />ESSENTIAL. DUTES AND RESPONSBILITIES <br />• Assist with all aspects of Public Works Administration. <br />• Assist with administering public improvement projects. <br />• Assist in developing an engineering data and information base. <br />• Perform field review and investigations for projects and studies. <br />• Assist in the preparation of the Capital Improvement Program and annual budget <br />• Undertake a wide variety of drafting assignments such as map updating and report <br />graphics. <br />• Assist with maintaining and updating the City's as-built library of public improvements. <br />• Run copies of maps and plats and provide as-built information to the public. <br />• • Perform other engineering and administrative work as assigned. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />(A)Preferred a high school graduate or GED equivalent enrolled in a four-year college or <br />vocation training in an engineering related field or graduate from high school with an <br />interest in the engineering field. <br />(B) Valid driver's license <br />(C) Experience using personal computers and associated software. <br />REQUIREMENTS <br />(A) Experience in Autocad and/or Arcview preferable. <br />(B) Familiarity with municipal construction activities desirable but not necessary. <br />(C) Abilities: Hard working, self-motivatored with attention to detail and neatness. <br />Amicable, cooperative and helpful personality desirable. <br />i~ <br />
