RESOLUTION 6844 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPOINTING MICHAEL SCHNUR AS LEAD UTILITY WORKER POSITION <br />AND AUTHORIZING TO ADVERTISE FOR THE VACANCY IN THE WATER <br />DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, on May 8, 2006, the City Council approved Resolution 6808 <br />authorizing the advertisement for the Public Works Lead Utility Worker; and <br />WHEREAS, the position was advertised and the City received six (6) <br />applications; and <br />WHEREAS,. only Michael Schnur met the minimum requirement of <br />possessing a valid Class B Water License; and <br />WHEREAS, Michael Schnur has been an employee with the City since <br />1997 and is currently in the Water Division of Public Works; and <br />• WHEREAS, Michael Schnur is qualified for this position; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has met with Mr. Schnur to discuss <br />his interest and qualifications, as well as expectations for the position; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Director recommends that Mr. Schnur be <br />appointed to the vacant Lead Utility Worker position and this appointment should <br />be made as of on June 1, 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Schnur would continue to be a member of the Public <br />Works Collective Bargaining Unit, and as such, would be subject to the <br />established job classification system with regard to the pay scale as set forth in <br />the Public Works Labor Agreement, and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Schnur would qualify for current established pay scale of <br />$24.24 per hour; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Schnur would be subject to a twelve month probationary <br />period and all other personnel policies as per the Public Works Labor Agreement <br />and the City's personnel manual; and <br />. WHEREAS, with the appointment of Mr. Schnur to the Lead Utility Worker <br />position, Staff recommends authorization to advertise for the vacancy in the <br />Water Division that would be created by this appointment. <br />
