RESOLUTION 6869 <br />• CITY OF MOI3NDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MOUNDS VIEW POLICE DEPARTMENT TO <br />ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF <br />PUBLIC SAFETY, OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR THE SAFE AND SOBER <br />PROJECT FROM OCTOBERl, 2006 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2007. <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department along with the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff's Department, New Brighton Police Department, White Bear Lake Police Department, St. <br />Anthony Village Police Department and the Roseville Police Department have applied for and <br />been awarded a grant from the Department of Public Safety Safe and Sober program to conduct <br />highly publicized, overtime enforcement projects addressing traffic safety issues; and, <br />WHEREAS, the grant funds will cover overtime personnel costs incurred through Safe <br />and Sober enforcement efforts which will be reimbursed to the city of Mounds View; and, <br />WHEREAS, all allocated manpower resources will be on a volunteer basis, and will be <br />on an officers scheduled time off; and <br />• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby authorize the Mounds View Police Department to enter into a grant agreement with the <br />Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety for the project entitled SAFE & <br />SOBER COMMUNITIES during the period from October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007;and, <br />NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the Mounds View Police <br />Department is hereby authorized to execute such agreements and amendments as are necessary to <br />implement the project on behalf of the Mounds View Police Department, and to be the fiscal agent <br />and administer the grant. <br />Adopted this 10th day of July, 2006 <br />ATTEST <br />(SEAL) <br />~~ <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br />Kurt Ulrich, City Clerk /Administrator <br />• <br />
