RESOLUT40~[ NO. 6878 <br />• CITY OF 41~0UI~DS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF F2~6'~SEY <br />STATE OF Ft~4f~lf~dESOTA <br />RESOLUTfON AFFIRf'~4NG THE PLAE'~4~f~G CO~i~iISSIO~d`S DEftif[AL OF A <br />VARIANCE REQUEST AT 8'435 LOf~C LAf~E ROAD TO EMCEED THE <br />t'V4A~Iit,~U{'~ ALLOWED ACCESSORY BL1iLDIP~G SQUARE FOOTAGE OF 1.800 <br />SQUARE FEET BY A~ ADDITfOE~~L 668 SQUARE FEET; <br />P1~OU4~DS VIEW PLAI~f~lff~G CASE VR2006-Q03 <br />WHEREAS, the applicants, David Slabiak and Maria Merabella, have applied for a <br />variance to allow for 2,468 square feet of accessory storage space on their property <br />located at 8135 Long Lake Road; and. <br />WHEREAS, 8135 Long Lake Road is zoned R-1, Single Family Residential. and is <br />legally described as follovds: <br />LOT 7 BLOCK 4. LAPORT MEADOWS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, 'the maximum permitted accessory storage space in this district is 1;800 <br />• square feet; 'the applicants have requested 668 square feet beyond the maximum <br />permitted; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds Viev~~ Planning Commission held aduly-noticed public <br />hearing on Wednesday; June 7, 2006, regarding this variance request; and, <br />WHEREAS, after considering testimony from staff, residents; the applicant and the <br />applicant's representative; the Planning Commission revievded the hardship criteria <br />articulated in Section 1125.02 of the Mounds View Zoning Code and established a findings <br />of fact which from which it was determined no hardship existed to justif)~ approval of the <br />variance requested; and; <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission approved Resolution 839-06 denying the <br />requested variance; and. <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have exercised their right to appeal the Planning <br />Commission's decision and have the variance request heard by the Mounds View City <br />Council; and, <br />WHEREAS; the City Council held a duly-noticed public hearing on July 10, 2005 to <br />consider the applicants appeal. <br />• <br />
