RESOLUTION NO. 8517 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE HIRE OF SCOTT VANDERVEGT TO THE POSITION OF <br /> PUBLIC WORKS MECHANIC <br /> WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council, the Mechanic position <br /> was advertised; and <br /> WHEREAS, fourteen (14) applications were received for the position and nine (9)were <br /> chosen for interview; and <br /> WHEREAS, Scott VanderVegt's skills and experience were determined to most closely <br /> match the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the job description; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. VanderVegt would start at Level A of the Pay Scale at $24.72/hour in <br /> accordance with the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, hiring Mr.VanderVegt would be contingent on satisfactory reference checks, <br /> satisfactory criminal background checks, satisfactory drug test and satisfactory pre-employment <br /> exam; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. VanderVegt would begin employment on or about February 29, 2016. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints <br /> Scott VanderVegt to the position of Mechanic in the Public Works Department, contingent <br /> satisfactory reference checks, satisfactory criminal background checks, satisfactory drug test, <br /> and satisfactory pre-employment exam, with employment to commence on or about February <br /> 29, 2016. <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve the hire of Scott <br /> VanderVegt to the full-time, non-exempt, union position of Mechanic at Level A of the pay scale <br /> (currently$24.72/hour) in accordance with the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement. . <br /> Adopted this 8th day of February, 2016. <br /> 2 <br /> -- Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> ATTEST:- --.• - JTAltrVUUAL <br /> - James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
