RESOLUTION 8527 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT ENGINE TO INCLUDE INSTALLATION FOR UNIT #319 TORO GROUND MASTER 4000 MOWER WHEREAS, the Public Works Department oversees park maintenance, and mows over 138 acres of turf weekly during the spring, summer and fall seasons, and; WHEREAS, the Department uses various mowers to perform the necessary mowing, and; WHEREAS, in 2015 an operator was mowing an infiltration basin with a slight incline and as the operator maneuvered around a pole the mower rolled onto its side damaging the engine, and; WHEREAS, the unit was brought to the dealer for inspections and repairs, and the dealer indicated that the engine was ruined and would need to be replaced or rebuilt, and; WHEREAS, Staff received a quote from MTI Distributing, Inc., of Brooklyn Center, MN, a vendor on the MN Cooperative Purchasing Venture program, in the amount of $10,979.11 to replace and install the engine, and; WHEREAS, funding for the replacement will come from account 100-4260-7030 and 100- 4365-5130. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. The City Council approves the replacement and installation of an engine in unit #319 Toro Grounds Master 4000 mower. 2. The City Council accepts the quote from MTI Distributing, Inc., of Brooklyn Center, MN a vendor on the MN Cooperative Purchasing Venture program. For the replacement and installation of a new engine in the amount of $10,979.11 which includes sales tax and any delivery charges. 3. The funding to replace the engine will be taken from account 100-4260-7030 and 100- 4365-5130. 4. The City Council approves a 5% contingency of $548.95, for any unforeseen expenditures vegarthng the replacement of the engine.
