Y., <br /> Mohs VIEW <br /> 2016 City Council Priorities <br /> On February 29, 2016, the Mounds View City Council and members of the management team held a <br /> planning and goal-setting retreat at the Mounds View Community Center. The City of Mounds View <br /> provides a variety of core and essential services to its residents, property owners and business owners. <br /> Each of these service delivery areas is an acknowledged and supported priority and each supports the <br /> City's Mission, Vision and Values statements. Recognizing that such core and essential services are <br /> ongoing priorities, the City Council has chosen to focus particular attention this year on the following <br /> identified goals, organized by City department: <br /> ADMINISTRATION: <br /> • Develop a program to recognize outstanding employee achievement <br /> • Pursue the naming of County Road 10 <br /> • Ensure Mounds View's interests are protected and promoted relating to the Rice Creek Commons <br /> redevelopment <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: <br /> • Encourage development and promote programs and opportunities to improve neighborhoods and <br /> eliminate blight <br /> • Develop the vision associated with Crossroad Pointe <br /> FINANCE: <br /> • Implement technology enhancements to expand access and availability to residents,businesses and <br /> City departments;provide for greater security in parks and City buildings <br /> POLICE: <br /> • Promote positive partnerships and outreach efforts between the Mounds View Police Department <br /> and the community it serves <br /> PUBLIC WORKS <br /> • Focus on corridor maintenance, aesthetics, landscaping and appearance;pursue linkages to <br /> promote regional trailway connectivity <br /> • Explore renewable energy and energy efficiency improvements;pursue Green-Step City <br /> designation Level 2 <br /> • Finalize and approve the design, size, location,and financing plan for the new Public Works <br /> building <br /> • Develop a vision for City Hall Park <br /> • Develop and approve a sustainable streets and utilities maintenance and reconstruction program <br /> In addition to the above,the City Council believes the County Road 10 corridor to be a key component in <br /> the City's redevelopment vision. A vibrant, easily accessible and aesthetically pleasing commercial <br /> corridor will be Mounds View's foundation upon which our other amenities and community assets will be <br /> strengthened and reinforced. <br /> (Approved March 14,2016, Resolution 8536) <br />
