RESOLUTION 7038 <br />. CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Approving the Purchase of a Mobile Command and Communication Vehicle for the <br />Spring Lake Park -Blaine -Mounds View Fire Department <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Spring Lake Park, Blaine, and Mounds View have been served <br />by the Spring Lake Park Fire Department since 1944 and; <br />WHEREAS, the department and the cities have been working together to develop a <br />comprehensive Capital Improvement Plan that included a new station, two new fire engines, <br />and a command and communication vehicle and; <br />WHEREAS, the station and engines were funded by a Capital Improvement Bond and <br />the have been completed and; <br />WHEREAS, the Command and Communication Vehicle was approved for purchase <br />using a combination of sale proceeds from Station Three and capital budget dollars and; <br />WHEREAS, a committee was formed comprised of Spring Lake Park Police Chief Dave <br />Toth, Mounds View Police Chief Mike Sommer, Blaine Police Captain Kerry Fenner and Fire <br />Department Officers Jim Hansen and Chief Zikmund to develop specifications and seek bids <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, the following three bids were received that were substantially compliant with <br />the specifications, and; <br />Manufacturer Base Bid Options Total <br />Mobile Specialties $293,600 $39,778 $333,378 <br />MBF $289,156 $60,706 $349,862 <br />LDV $303,535 $68,875 $372,410 <br />WHEREAS, Mobile Specialties of Jasper, Texas is the apparent low bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Mounds View Council supports the <br />Fire Department purchase of one mobile command and communication vehicle from Mobile <br />Specialties of Jasper, Texas. <br />Adopte his 1 day of March, 2007. <br />,~ <br />Ro Marty, ayor <br />ATTEST: ~-~ j, <br />• Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
