RESOLUTION 8549 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> ACCEPT MDH SOURCE WATER PROTECTION GRANT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has established Drinking Water Supply Management <br /> Area and a Wellhead Protection Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the protection of existing aquifers within the Drinking Water Supply Management <br /> Area is critical to being able to supply safe drinking water to the citizens of Mounds View; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View applied for and was awarded a Source Water <br /> Protection Plan Implementation Grant in September 2015; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Health was unable to fund the grant request at that <br /> time, but as of March 2016 has funded the grant; and, <br /> WHEREAS, this grant will complete actions that are needed as part of the Wellhead <br /> Protection Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, a consultant will perform this work as established in the grant request. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The City of Mounds View accepts the Minnesota Department of Health Source Water Protection <br /> Plan Implementation Grant for conducting needed action items in the Wellhead Protection Plan. <br /> 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the <br /> City, to execute and enter into said Grant Agreement with MDH. <br /> 3. Upon receipt of the fully executed Grant Agreement, the Director of Public Works is directed to <br /> negotiate an agreement with the proposed consultant and bring that agreement back for <br /> approval at a later Council meeting. <br /> 4. The Mayor and City Administrator and staff are hereby authorized and directed to take any and <br /> all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this <br /> Resolution. <br /> Adopted this 11th day of April, 2016 <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: J amu2\ <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
