RESOLUTION NO. 8553 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> ADOPTING A CALENDAR FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE 2017 BUDGET <br /> WHEREAS, the City's Charter and Code as well as State Statutes set forth various <br /> requirements for considering and adopting components of the City's budget; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 7.04 of the City Charter requires the City Administrator to submit to the <br /> City Council a budget calendar to be established by resolution, and <br /> WHEREAS, the calendar is an approximate schedule of when these actions will take place <br /> but is not absolute timeline. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View <br /> that the following budget and long term financial plan calendar is hereby adopted: <br /> June 6, 2016 City Council discusses budget priorities at a work session. <br /> June 30, 2016 Summary of General Fund operating budget requests delivered to City <br /> Council. <br /> July 5, 2016 (Tues) City Council reviews General Fund budget at work session. <br /> August 22, 2016 City Council adopts preliminary 2017 property tax levy or defers to <br /> September 14th meeting and sets date for the Truth in Taxation Public <br /> Hearing. <br /> Oct. 3, 2016 City Council reviews other funds and utility rate study at a work session. <br /> Nov. 14, 2016 City Council adopts utility rates for 2017. <br /> Dec. 5, 2016 Truth in Taxation Public Hearing. <br /> Dec. 12, 2016 Continuation Hearing and adoption of 2017 budget and tax levy. <br /> Adoptd this 25th day of April, 2016. <br /> 4Y� <br /> J o e Flaherty; Mayor') <br /> ATTEST: <br /> FA4A1/0- <br /> James <br /> Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
