RESOLUTION 8555 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPOINTING DEPUTY CHIEF STEVE MENARD <br /> AS INTERIM POLICE CHIEF AND <br /> AUTHORIZING CORRESPONDING ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Chief Tom Kinney is resigning effective April 29, 2016; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, according to the policy adopted in Resolution 5626, an employee <br /> may serve in an interim capacity to meet the needs of the vacant position with the <br /> approval of the City Administrator and the City Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution 5626 establishes that additional compensation may be <br /> authorized for employees serving in an interim capacity taking on higher classification <br /> duties; and <br /> WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Steve Menard is recommended to be appointed as <br /> Interim Police Chief and recommends Deputy Chief Steve Menard to be compensated <br /> for the higher classifications he will assume in the absence of the Police Chief; and <br /> WHEREAS, Staff recommends following Resolution 5626, and approve Deputy <br /> Chief Steve Menard an additional 10% compensation for assuming the role of Interim <br /> Police Chief. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council <br /> does hereby authorize additional compensation to Deputy Chief Steve Menard at a rate <br /> ten percent (10%) of his base pay effective April 30, 2016. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City <br /> Council appoint Deputy Steve Menard as Interim Police Chief until a Police Chief is <br /> hired. <br /> Adopd this 25th day of April, 2016. <br /> I <br /> oe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> (4-(AAM'LA James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
