RESOLUTION NO. 8561 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVE CONSULTANT TO PERFORM DESIGN SERVICES RELATED TO THE <br /> PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8524 on February 22, 2016. <br /> accepting the Public Works Facility space needs study; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8533 on March 14, 2016, <br /> approving the request for proposals and authorizing advertisement seeking design <br /> services related to the Public Works Facility; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Engineer forwarded the approved request for proposals to <br /> five consultants; and, <br /> WHEREAS, two responses to the request for proposals were received by the <br /> deadline; and, <br /> WHEREAS, a selection panel consisting of the City Engineer and two other staff <br /> members evaluated the proposals; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Oertel Architects was selected as the highest rated firm for providing <br /> design service. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. Oertel Architects is authorized to perform design services and prepare bidding <br /> documents for the Public Works Facility (City Project No. 2017-0O2). <br /> Compensation will be on an hourly basis plus reimbursable expenses with an <br /> estimated maximum fee of $247,860.00. <br /> 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute all appropriate <br /> documents and enter into a professional services agreement, for and on behalf of <br /> the City, with Oertel Architects to effectuate the actions contemplated by this <br /> Resolution. <br /> 3. A contingency of $12,000 (5%) is approved for additional work or tests needed <br /> during the performance of the design services and requires pre-approval by the <br /> Director of Public Works. <br />
