<br /> APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH NORTHWEST ASPHALT FOR CSAH 10
<br /> TRAIL SEGMENTS 6 AND 11
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8420 on May 26, 2015 awarding a
<br /> contract to Bolton & Menk, Inc. to prepare bidding documents for CSAH 10 Trail Segments 6
<br /> and 11, City Project No. 2015-0O3; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8477 on November 9, 2015 authorizing
<br /> Bolton & Menk, Inc. to proceed with the design of CSAH 10 Trail Segments 6 and 11, City
<br /> Project No. 2015-0O3; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8539 on March 28, 2016 approving the
<br /> plans and specification and authorizing the advertisement for bids for CSAH 10 Trail Segments
<br /> 6 and 11, City Project No. 2015-0O3; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, on May 2, 2016, five sealed bids were received and publicly read aloud as
<br /> follows:

<br /> 5 Park Construction Company $526,028.40 $97,393.90 $13,884.50
<br /> WHEREAS, the lowest responsible base bid of $475,846.48 was submitted by
<br /> Northwest Asphalt, Inc. of Shakopee, MN; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Engineer and Bolton & Menk, Inc. recommend awarding the
<br /> construction contract to Northwest Asphalt, Inc for the base bid.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by City Council of the City of Mounds View,
<br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
<br /> 1. The bid proposal submitted by Northwest Asphalt, Inc. in the total amount (base bid and
<br /> alternate 1) of $564,948.28 for construction of CSAH 10 Trail Segments 6 and 11, City
<br /> Project No. 2015-0O3 is accepted by the City and a construction contract is awarded to
<br /> Northwest Asphalt, Inc.
<br /> 2. City staff is directed to have a construction contract prepared for the Project at said
<br /> price, and the City Attorney is authorized to review the prepared construction contract
<br /> and any associated documentation submitted by Northwest Asphalt, Inc.
<br /> 3. Upon satisfactory review of the prepared construction contract and documentation by the
<br /> City Attorney, the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for
