Additionally, shade trees are available <br />to the public through an annual tree sale for planting on private property. <br />The Mounds View forestry program is jointly run with the City of New Brighton and <br />uses all media forms available including newspapers, Internet, personal and group <br />meetings, cable television and billboards. An information stream to reputable tree <br />contractors exists but is problematic with firms moving in and out of the City limits. Tree <br />contractor licensing has been initiated and should help the cause of informed, <br />professional tree work. <br />The local oak wilt control program outlined above has worked well for this municipality <br />for a great number of years. Grant funds have been a Large part of this success.
