RESOLUTION 8600 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVAL OF THE RCWD 2016 URBAN STORMWATER REMEDIATION COST-SHARE <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, The Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) as part of their goals and <br /> objectives in its Watershed Management Plan as well as their efforts in protecting and <br /> enhancing the water resources; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Rice Creek Watershed District made $260,000 available to assist cities, <br /> counties and other public entities to implement stormwater management projects, and funding is <br /> available for up to 50% of the total cost of the project and distributed on a competitive basis; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, Staff applied for an ultimately received a grant for a stormwater project at <br /> 2255 Lambert Avenue, owned by Tom Fields, which would replace an open and poorly <br /> vegetated ditch with reinforced concrete pipe; and, <br /> WHEREAS, this ditch is poorly vegetated as a result each rain event is causing erosion <br /> and depositing sediment in the city's stormwater system. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The City Council accept this grant to ensure that funds are available to assist with <br /> this project. <br /> 2. Prior to any construction beginning, staff will request approval from Council to <br /> approve the design and seek quotes to perform the work. <br /> 3. The costs for this storm sewer work shall be paid from the Storm Water Fund (475- <br /> 4415-5150). <br /> 4. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all <br /> appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. <br /> 5.
