RESOLUTION NO. 8602 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HIRING OF NATHANIEL HARDER TO THE <br /> POSITION OF POLICE CHIEF <br /> WHEREAS, Police Chief Tom Kinney retired from the Mounds View Police <br /> Department on April 29, 2016; and, <br /> WHEREAS, during the February 8, 2016, City Council Meeting, the City Council <br /> approved the advertisement and recruitment or the Police Chief position; and, <br /> WHEREAS, based on City Council direction, Staff enlisted the assistance of a <br /> professional recruitment firm, Setter & Associates, to assist the City in the recruitment <br /> process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to schedule all necessary background <br /> checks and evaluations from the eligibility list provided by the Police Civil Service <br /> Commission — Nathaniel Harder; and, <br /> WHEREAS, all background checks and evaluations on Mr. Harder have been <br /> conducted with positive results. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br /> hereby approve the hire of Nathaniel Harder to the position of Police Chief, effective <br /> August 15, 2016, subject to the provisions and terms of the Personnel Manual, with the <br /> following noted compensation, benefits and conditions: <br /> Wage / Step: $47.11 per hour (Step 2) <br /> Step Increases: Step 3 after one year of employment subject to satisfactory <br /> evaluation and City Council approval <br /> Relocation Allowance: The City is offering a reimbursement of relocation expenses <br /> not to exceed $1,000. The City will only reimburse for <br /> reasonable expenses which are supported by valid receipts <br /> provided to the City. <br /> No Contract: Neither this resolution nor the Personnel Manual shall <br /> constitute an employment contract.
