CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />POSITION TITLE: Parks Maintenance Worker <br />DEPARTMENT: Pub{ic Works <br />RESPONSIBLE TO: Public Works Director <br />FLSA: Collective Bargaining Unit-Non-exempt <br />PRIMARY OBJECT OF POSITION <br />Provide the residents of Mounds View with beautiful, safe and functional parks through <br />efficient parks maintenance activities. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the genera! guidance and direction of the Parks S~~rvicor f~rematt. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />(lvnrecaac the work of SE~SD133t <br />FmnloypQ~ ^a dir c d bbl th Parka Su~Prvicor. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONS161LITIES <br />Operate heavy and light equipment related to a variety of park projects as <br />delegated in a safe and proficient manner. <br />. Performs a variety of skilled an unskilled functions such as carpentry, <br />plumbing, masonry, and other duties as apparent or assigned. <br />Assess situations or problems and determine workable solutions or methods <br />to resolve them with limited supervision and make recommendations on park <br />maintenance which will provide better maintenance and service. <br />Follows safety regulations and operating procedures that are in compliance with <br />applicable Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health laws and regulations. <br />Also recognizes potential hazards in the work environment and notifies Parks <br />n. <br />Purchases operational supplies with responsibility and in accordance with City <br />purchasing policy. <br />Maintains or repairs equipment within knowledgeable limits to ensure vehicles <br />and equipment are in good repair and appearance. <br />Maintains knowledge of safe handling and application of chemicals used in <br />departmental programs. <br />Maintains knowledge of and performs activities related to turf maintenance <br />including, but not limited to, landscaping, mowing, seeding, spraying, and <br />irrigation systems. <br />Performs manual labor including, but not limited to, lifting, painting, tree <br />trimming, planting, removal, the use of hand tools, compacting materials with <br />hand or mechanical equipment. <br />Keeps City facilities and equipment in a neat and clean order. Maintains trails. <br />• <br />
