• Performs manual labor including, but not limited to, lifting, painting, tree trimming, <br /> planting, and removal, the use of hand tools, compacting materials with hand or <br /> mechanical equipment. <br />• Keeps City facilities and equipment in a neat and clean order. <br />• Keeps accurate records of time sheets, job activity sheets, fuel log sheets, <br /> vehicle and equipment maintenance reports, water test, asbuifts and other <br /> related or required data. <br />• Responds to citizens requests and complaints in a manner consistent with City <br /> policies and regulations and promotes and maintains a favorable image of the <br /> City through positive community relations. <br />• Responsible for locating City owned utilities in accordance with Gopher <br /> State One Call. <br />• Responsible for maintaining the city water meters meter reading system, <br /> in a fiscally responsible manner. <br />• Assumes necessary/relevant job duties of the Utility Lead Worker in hisor <br /> her absence. <br />• Responsible for inspection and documentation of water, sewer and storm <br /> Sewer installation and repairs according to City requirements. <br /> Responsible for after hours calls on an assigned basis. <br />• Follows departmental safety regulations and operating procedures that are <br /> in compliance with applicable Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Laws and regulations Also recognizes potential hazards in the work <br /> environment and notifies Pubic Works Foreman for corrective action. <br /> <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br />• Works with other City employees in a cooperative manner to maintain a team <br /> effort and also can work effectively alone. <br />• Performs related duties as apparent or delegated to ensure the successful <br /> operation of the Public Works Department. <br />• Maintains ability and knowledge to assist in training of other employees. <br />• Serves on various employee or other committees as assigned. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Education and Experience: <br />(A) Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent. <br />** see contract for job classification system and minimum advancement qualifications. <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />(A) Working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in building and <br />ground maintenance; Working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do <br />minor repairs; Working knowledge of application safety precautions. <br />(B) Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. <br />(C) Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work <br />schedule; Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, <br />and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse conditions; Ability to <br />• <br />
