RESOLUTION NO. 8748 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> County of Ramsey <br /> State of Minnesota <br /> ADOPTING A CALENDAR FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE 2018 BUDGET <br /> WHEREAS, the City's Charter and Code as well as State Statutes set forth various <br /> requirements for considering and adopting components of the City's budget; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 7.04 of the City Charter requires the City Administrator to submit to the <br /> City Council a budget calendar to be established by resolution, and <br /> WHEREAS, the calendar is an approximate schedule of when these actions will take place <br /> but is not an absolute timeline. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View <br /> that the following budget calendar is hereby adopted: <br /> May 1, 2017 City Council discusses budget priorities at a work session. <br /> May 1, 2017 Summary of General Fund operating budget requests delivered to City <br /> Council. <br /> June 5, 2017 City Council reviews General Fund budget at work session. <br /> August 28, 2017 City Council adopts preliminary 2018 property tax levy or defers to <br /> September 11th meeting and sets date for the Truth in Taxation Public <br /> Hearing. <br /> Oct. 2, 2017 City Council reviews other funds and utility rate study at a work session. <br /> Nov. 13, 2017 City Council adopts utility rates for 2018. <br /> Dec. 4, 2017 Truth in Taxation Public Hearing. <br /> Dec. 11, 2017 Continuation Hearing and adoption of 2018 budget and tax levy. <br /> Adopted this 24th day of April, 2017. <br /> i %1, <br /> Carol A.
