RESOLUTION 8757 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OR RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING AN ADJUSTED SALARY SCALE AND THE ADVERTISEMENT <br /> FOR THE HOUSING/CODE ENFORCEMENT POSITION <br /> WHEREAS, the position of Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector has been <br /> vacant since August 10, 2016; and; <br /> WHEREAS, on August 8, 2016, the City Council authorized the advertisement of <br /> the position; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Staff has advertised and interviewed for the position twice without <br /> success; and, <br /> WHEREAS, upon reviewing the wages for same or similar positions in <br /> comparable communities, staff believed the Mounds View wages were below average, a <br /> belief confirmed by Springsted after conducting a salary survey; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the results of the salary survey were shared with the HR Committee <br /> on May 17, 2017, which recommended increasing the wages for the position to be <br /> consistent the comparable maximum average, as represented in the table below: <br /> Step 1 (80%) Step 1.5 (82.5%) Step 2 (85%) Step 3 (90%) Step 4 (95%) Step 5 (100%) <br /> $ 25.18 $ 25.97 $ 26.76 $ 28.33 $ 29.91 $ 31.48 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View approves the adjusted wage scale for the position of "Housing/Code <br /> Enforcement Inspector" and authorizes the advertisement for the position at the adjusted <br /> rates. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that once a qualified <br /> candidate is selected for the Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector position, staff would <br /> seek authorization from the City Council to hire the individual. <br /> Adopted this 22nd day of May, 2017. <br /> 4.6.1.&--/14-4/40/- <br /> Carol A.
