RESOLUTION 8741 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> ACCEPTING BIDS RECEIVED BY THE CITY OF COON RAPIDS JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br /> FOR 2017 SEAL COATING OF AREA D <br /> WHEREAS, the City has a pavement management program that includes city streets, trails, <br /> and parking lots; and, <br /> WHEREAS, project area D is due for routine maintenance which would entail a bituminous <br /> seal coat for 2017; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City entered into a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) with the City of Coon <br /> Rapids on February 13, 2017 (Resolution 8704) to provide routine street maintenance such as traffic <br /> marking, street sweeping, crack sealing, and seal coating; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Coon Rapids prepared plans, specifications, and bid documents using <br /> combined quantities of the all the members of the JPA for the 2017 Seal Coat Project and a public bid <br /> solicitation was executed to obtain pricing; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Pearson Bros., Inc. of Hanover, Minnesota submitted the lowest bid of <br /> $76,120.36; and, <br /> WHEREAS, City staff recommends accepting the bids received by the JPA and concurring <br /> with the City of Coon Rapids to enter into a contract with Pearson Bros., Inc.; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the JPA provides for an Administrative Fee to be paid to the City Coon Rapids <br /> based on the construction cost; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Administrative Fee is calculated to be $1,391.81. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The bid proposal for $76,120.36 submitted by Pearson Bros., Inc. of Hanover, Minnesota for the <br /> 2017 Seal Coat Project (City Project No. 2017-009) is hereby approved. <br /> 2. The City Council concurs with the City of Coon Rapids to enter into a contract with Pearson Bros., <br /> Inc. for said project at said price. <br /> 3. The City Council accepts the Administrative Fee in the amount of $1,391.81. <br /> 4. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate <br /> documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. <br />
