RESOLUTION 8743 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING THE MOUNDS VIEW POLICE FOUNDATION TO USE THE NAME OF <br /> THE MOUNDS VIEW POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEN SOLICITING DONATIONS FOR <br /> USE IN SUPPORTING THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW AND THE MOUNDS VIEW <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View and the Mounds View Police Department are <br /> committed to community outreach, education, and involvement; and, <br /> WHEREAS, a group of concerned citizens formed the Mounds View Police <br /> Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation to solicit funding for said community <br /> outreach, education, and involvement; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens desire to use the name Mounds View Police Department <br /> and/or the City of Mounds View when soliciting donations for this purpose. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> Section 1: That the Mounds View Police Foundation is hereby permitted to use the <br /> phrases "Mounds View Police Department" and "City of Mounds View" when <br /> soliciting charitable donations for the purposes of community outreach, education, <br /> and involvement. <br /> Section 2: That the Mounds View Police Foundation may not use on-duty or <br /> uniformed Mounds View Police Officers to solicit such donations. <br /> Section 3: That any charitable donations solicited by the Mounds View Police <br /> Foundation may not be used to supplement the salaries of Mounds View Police <br /> Officers or Mounds View City employees. <br /> Adopted this 10th day of April, 2017 <br /> /14 -e //, <br /> Carol A.
