RESOLUTION 8704 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING ENTRY INTO A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH COON RAPIDS WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View performs routine street maintenance including crack sealing and seal coating; and WHEREAS, a Joint Powers Agreement exists whereby 10 north metro cities contract to perform routine street maintenance under one contract; and WHEREAS, Mounds View can join this Joint Powers Agreement upon approval of the City Councils of Mounds View and Coon Rapids; and WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View would realize a savings in staff effort by becoming part of the Joint Powers Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City of Coon Rapids will be advertising for the street maintenance contract in late February; and WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View can take advantage of this arrangement for the 2017 Seal Coat Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. The City Council authorizes Mounds View's entry into a Joint Powers Agreement with Coon Rapids. 2. Upon satisfactory review of the Joint Powers Agreement by the City Attorney, the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to execute and enter into said Joint Powers Agreement. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. 4. The Mayor, City Administrator and staff are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
