RESOLUTION 8637 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE BUILDING ALTERATIONS AND BUILDING MAINTENANCE NEEDS FOR COMMUNITY CENTER WHEREAS, the City has an agreement with the YMCA to operate the Community Center; and, WHEREAS, the City Council will adopt a budget and a 5 year capital improvement plan for the Community Center; and, WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has met with the YMCA Staff members regarding building alterations for the Community Center and the YMCA advisory committee; and, WHEREAS, Public Works Staff had been working for several months to obtain quotes for these building alterations and maintenance items. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota, that the following improvements are deemed necessary: 1. Expand the conference rooms (A108 and A110) by combining these into one large conference / training room with audio / visual components and smaller tables. The YMCA Staff calculated a 5 year payback renting the room at a rate of $30 for residents and $60 for nonresidents. Work to be performed by Public Works Staff. Cost of improvements total $9,407.00. 2. Purchase new kitchen equipment and replace ceiling tiles. Kitchen equipment, purchased from Rapids Restaurant Equipment of St. Paul, MN, would include new range, dishwasher, proffer cabinet, work table and wire shelving for cooler. New ceiling tiles to be installed by Acoustical Concepts, Inc. of Shakopee, MN. Total cost is $19,888.76. 3. Repair and replace common area floor tiles, work to be performed by RAK Construction, Inc. of East Bethel MN. Total cost is $3,679.41. 4. Replace ceiling tiles in Cedar conference room, work to be performed by Acoustical Concepts, Inc. of Shakopee, MN. Total cost is $2,495. 5. Install electronic door lock on main office door, work to be performed by Pro- Tec Design of Minneapolis, MN. Total cost is $1,796.39. 6. Install room name signs throughout the building; signs to be purchased from MN State Industries of Moose Lake, MN. Room name signs to be installed by Public Works Staff. Total cost is $2,500.
