RESOLUTION 8764 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CITY HALL AND COMMUNITY <br /> CENTER PARKING LOTS MILL AND OVERLAY PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works has prepared bidding documents in-house for public bidding to <br /> mill and overlay the City Hall and Community Center parking lots; and, <br /> WHEREAS, City Council approved the plans, and specification and authorized the <br /> advertisement for bids on April 24, 2017 (Resolution 8750); and, <br /> WHEREAS, seven bids were received and publicly opened on June 6, 2017; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the actual bid tabulation is: <br /> Rank Contractor(City, State) Base Bid <br /> Low Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (Mendota Heights, MN) $106,880.25 <br /> 2 Omann Contracting Companies, Inc. (Albertville, MN) $113,134.50 <br /> 3 T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc. (North Saint Paul, MN) $132,876.70 <br /> 4 Allied Blacktop Company (Maple Grove, MN) $136,006.00 <br /> 5 Hardrives Inc. (Rogers, MN) $138,866.95 <br /> 6 FPI Paving Contractors Inc. (Saint Paul, MN) $139,575.50 <br /> 7 Northwest (Shakopee, MN) $142,898.00 <br /> WHEREAS, Bituminous Roadways, Inc. of Mendota Heights, Minnesota submitted the <br /> lowest bid of$106,880.25; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works staff recommends approving a construction contract with <br /> Bituminous Roadways, Inc. to perform the parking lots mill and overlay project. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The bid proposal for $106,880.25 submitted by Bituminous Roadways, Inc. of Mendota <br /> Heights, Minnesota for the City Hall and Community Center Parking Lots Mill and Overlay <br /> Project (City Project No. 2017-009) is hereby accepted. <br /> 2. City staff is hereby directed to prepare a construction contract agreement between the City of <br /> Mounds View and Bituminous Roadways, Inc. for$106,880.25 <br /> 3. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to quantity over-runs <br /> or additional work resulting from unknown conditions discovered during construction up to a <br /> combined total of$10,700 (10% contingency) on behalf of the City Council. <br />
