RESOLUTION 8781 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS <br /> FACILITY MAINTENANCE/BUILDING CUSTODIAN POSITION <br /> AND <br /> APPROVE A NEW PAY PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, due to the resignation of the Community Center Custodian, Staff <br /> reviewed the job description, and made revisions to better align with the City's current <br /> needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, during the May Work Session, it was the consensus of the City <br /> Council to proceed in revising the job description with the current Community Center <br /> Custodian pay scale, and start the hiring process; and <br /> WHEREAS, Staff further researched the position, and found this position to <br /> appear over compensated as it relates to past compensation studies, pay equity <br /> reports, and HAY point system; and <br /> WHEREAS, it was Staff's recommendation to approve the new job description <br /> and start the process of a HAY point analysis and salary study before proceeding with <br /> the hiring process at the May 8, 2017, City Council Meeting; and <br /> WHEREAS, Springsted Group reviewed the job description and submitted their <br /> findings; and <br /> WHEREAS, according to the study, Springsted Group is recommending to not <br /> revise the HAY points for the position; and <br /> WHEREAS, according to the study conducted by Springsted Group, the current <br /> position is overcompensated by $6,490/year; and <br /> WHEREAS, Staff's recommendation for the new pay plan is as follows: <br /> Step 1 Step 1.5 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 <br /> $16.98/hour $17.51/hour $18.05/hour $19.11/hour $20.17/hour $21.23/hour <br /> ; and <br /> WHEREAS, Staff discussed this new pay plan with the Public Works Collective <br /> Bargaining Unit, and the bargaining unit does not have any issues with the new wages; <br /> and <br />
