RESOLUTION 8802 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS AND APPROVING FINAL PAYMENT FOR THE 2017 SEAL COATING OF AREA D PROJECT WHEREAS, the City entered into a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA)with the City of Coon Rapids on February 13, 2017 (Resolution 8704) to provide routine street maintenance such as traffic marking, street sweeping, crack sealing, and seal coating; and, WHEREAS, Pearson Bros., Inc. of Hanover, MN, submitted the lowest bid of$76,120.36; and, WHEREAS, City Council approved bids received by the JPA and concurring with the City of Coon Rapids to enter into a contract with Pearson Bros., Inc.; and, WHEREAS, Pearson Bros., Inc. has successfully completed the sealcoating and met all other contract requirements for the Project with a substantial completion date of June 27, 2017, and a final construction cost of$74,790.08; and, WHEREAS, the City of Coon Rapids Administrative Fee is calculated to be $1,371.85, which is based on actual construction cost; and, WHEREAS, City staff recommends accepting the completed sealcoating work, and issuing final payment for $74,790.08 to Pearson Bros., Inc. and $1,371.85 to the City of Coon Rapids. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. All work completed under the contract between the City of Coon Rapids and Pearson Bros., Inc. for the 2017 Sealcoat Project (City Project No. 2017-008) is hereby accepted and approved. 2. The Finance Director is authorized to issue final payment of $74,790.08 to Pearson Bros., Inc. for completing the project, as well as issue final payment of $1,371.85 to the City of Coon Rapids for administration of the Joint Powers Agreement.
