RESOLUTION 8805 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE PROPOSAL FROM OERTEL ARCHITECTS FOR ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION SERVICES FOR THE MOUNDS VIEW PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY WHEREAS, the City is currently constructing a new Public Works facility and the Public Works Department is currently experiencing changes in staffing levels in the Administration area; and WHEREAS, the staffing vacancies will leave the Public Works Department short staffed during the construction of one of the largest projects the City has had in recent years; and WHEREAS, At the July 10th Council meeting, Brian Erickson informed the Council that additional services may be required to assist Public Works Staff in the construction of the new facility; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has received a proposal from Oertel Architects for additional construction administration, and has discussed what services would be appropriate for this project; and WHEREAS, the additional construction services are as follows: • Increase site meetings / progress meetings to weekly events • Extend hours needed to include Owner/Architect progress meetings, in addition to the added site / progress meetings. • Review and administration of additional documents and / or construction changes that still fall within the purview of the Architect's basic scope of services; and WHEREAS, Oertel is proposing an additional 12 hours per month, for the duration of construction (10 months) at the current billing rate of $125 / hr. which results in $1,500.00 per month, for a total estimated additional fee of $15,000.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Accepts the proposal from Oertel Architects for additional construction administration for the construction of the Public Works Facility. An additional 12 hours per month is proposed for the duration of construction (10 months) at the current billing rate of $125 / hr. which results in $1,500 per month, for a total estimated additional fee of $15,000.00 with the understanding that these are not hard numbers for the necessary hours devoted to additional Construction Administration.
