Mounds View City Council May 13, 2013 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br />years and hoped to continue his service to the community. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller supported Julianne Love for the vacant seat. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn agreed stating Ms. Love’s goals and visions were similar to that of the <br />Council. She noted Ms. Love would bring new insights to the Commission. <br /> <br />Council Member Hull was in favor of appointing Keith Cramblit as his experience would assist <br />with revitalizing the corridor. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause commented he served on the Planning Commission for several <br />years with Keith Cramblit. He explained that he also has gotten to know Julianne Love and was <br />pleased she was interested in getting involved in the community. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Mr. Cramblit for his prior service on the Planning Commission. He <br />stated at this time he was in favor of appointing the vacant seat to Ms. Love as he wanted to <br />involve a new member of the community to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause noted there was an opening on the Streets Committee if Mr. <br />Cramblit was willing to serve in this capacity. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8100, <br />Appointing Julianne Love to the Planning Commission to Fill the Remaining Term of One <br />Vacated Position. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br /> H. Public Hearing, Resolution 8089, Adopting a Five-Year Financial Plan for <br />2014 through 2018. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer reviewed the five-year financial plan for years 2014 through 2018 in detail <br />with the Council. He explained the public hearing this evening was required by City Charter. He <br />noted a 3% inflator was written into the financials, along with a potential 4% levy increase. He <br />stated the City was not committed to any items within the future financials as this was a fluid <br />document. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer commented the water, sewer and street light rates would be increasing <br />slightly next year. The major projects planned for 2014 were reviewed. He discussed the street <br />improvements planned for the coming years. Staff noted the five-year financial plan was <br />available on the City’s website for the public. He recommended the Council hold the public <br />hearing and adopt the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 8:30 p.m.
