May 9, 2016, City Council Meeting Minutes. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause requested a correction on Page 8, Line 16 placing a “w” at the end <br />of Mounds View. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause requested a correction on Page 8, Line 32 changing park to parks. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Approve the May 9, 2016, City Council meeting <br />minutes as corrected. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />11. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller stated the next Festival in the Park Committee meeting would be held <br />on Tuesday, June 21st at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. She encouraged those interested in volunteering <br />to attend this meeting. She provided further comment on the events planned for this year’s <br />Festival. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller reported the League of Minnesota Cities Board approved a 3% increase <br />in member dues for 2017. This information was passed along to the Finance Director to assist <br />the City in budgeting accordingly. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller commented the State Legislature wrapped up their session on Sunday, <br />May 22 nd. She was pleased that the State had taken action on body cameras. She provided <br />further comment the State legislation regarding granny pods. She was disappointed that the <br />legislature could not come together to pass a transportation bill. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause discussed the Twin Cities Gateway board meeting he attended last <br />week. He explained the Gateway continues to be in great financial standing. He reviewed the <br />hotel revenues that had been collected in 2016. He commented Twin Cities Gateway was <br />looking to hire an additional staff member to assist with promoting the gateway for sporting <br />events. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause explained the United States Postal Service would be unveiling a <br />stamp that honors Halloween at the Anoka City Hall on Thursday, September 29th. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he would be joining Public Works Director Erickson and <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson in touring the Little Canada, White Bear Lake and Vadnais <br />Heights Public Works facilities. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending an NYFS board meeting on <br />Thursday.
