Mounds View City Council May 12, 2014 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Police Chief Kinney administered the Oath of Office to Police Officer Jeffrey Martin and <br />welcomed him to the Mounds View Police Department. A round of applause was offered by all <br />in attendance. <br /> <br /> C. Abiding Savior Lutheran Church Proclamation <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty read a proclamation declaring May 16, 2014, to be Abiding Savior Lutheran <br />Church Day and congratulated them on their 75th Anniversary. He congratulated this <br />congregation on their 75 years of ministry to the community. A round of applause was offered <br />by all in attendance. <br /> <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />A. 7:00 p.m. Public Hearing – On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewals. <br />1. Resolution 8253, a Resolution to Consider Approval of an On-Sale <br />Intoxicating Liquor License for Moe’s, located at 2400, County Road <br />10. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated that in accordance with City Code a public hearing was <br />required for all liquor licenses. She reported that Moe’s had not submitted their application <br />materials and therefore recommended the Council continue the public hearing for this item to the <br />May 27, 2014 City Council meeting. She indicated she received a phone call from the business <br />owner and staff has given them until May 21st to submit all necessary liquor license paperwork. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Continue the Public Hearing for Moe’s On-Sale <br />Intoxicating Liquor License to the May 27, 2014 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Resolution 8254, a Resolution to Consider Approval of an On-Sale <br />Intoxicating Liquor License for The Mermaid, located at 2200 County <br />Road 10. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated that in accordance with City Code a public hearing was <br />required for all liquor licenses. She reported that The Mermaid has submitted all necessary <br />application paperwork and fees. She recommended approval of the On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor <br />License for The Mermaid contingent upon a satisfactory compliance and criminal background <br />check from the BCA. It was noted the liquor license would be in effect from July 1, 2014 through <br />June 30, 2015. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:17 p.m. <br /> <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:17 p.m. <br />
