Resolution 8238, Approving the Purchase of a 2015 Service Truck for the <br />Parks Department. <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson stated that the Parks Department had a 1999 Ford F250 that <br />was due for replacement. This vehicle replacement has been postponed since 2009. He <br />discussed the services completed with by this vehicle in detail. It was recommended the Council <br />approve the purchase of a new 2015 service truck for the Parks Department. He reviewed the <br />expense for the truck noting this was a budgeted item within the 2014 budget. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked if these vehicles would be rigged and ready for this summer. <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson anticipated the trucks would take eight to twelve weeks to <br />complete. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned how much the City spent on maintaining this vehicle in 2013. Public <br />Works Supervisor Peterson did not have a detailed account of the funds spent, but knew the head <br />gasket was recently replaced. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause inquired why staff was requesting an F350 for this service truck. <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson stated the larger utility box would be better served by an <br />F350. He reported the maintenance department has been stressing the current F250 truck with an <br />overloaded utility box. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8238, <br />Approving the Purchase of a 2015 Service Truck for the Parks Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned what the City would do with the trade in proceeds for both trucks. <br />Finance Director Beer explained these funds would be placed in the general fund. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 1 (Flaherty) Motion carried. <br /> <br />8. Set a Public Hearing for Monday, April 14, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., to Consider <br />the First Reading and Introduction of Ordinance 886, an Ordinance
