April 27, 2015, City Council Meeting Minutes. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Approve the April 27, 2015, City Council meeting <br />minutes as presented. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />11. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller reported the League of Minnesota Cities Board has made an offer to a <br />new Executive Director. She anticipated that the decision would be made public at the League of <br />Minnesota Cities Conference in Duluth, Minnesota June 24 th through June 26 th . <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller commented that Discover Aviation Days would be held May 30 th and <br />May 31 st at the Anoka County Airport. She encouraged all to attend the hanger dance on <br />Saturday, May 30 th . <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn indicated the school year was coming to an end and seniors would be <br />attending a picnic at Long Lake Park on Friday. She noted that Graduation would be held on <br />Tuesday, June 2 nd . She wished all of the graduates well in the future. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause congratulated Vanessa VanAlstine for being inducted into the CTV <br />Hall of Fame. A round of applause was offered by all in attendance. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated the Twin Cities Gateway Board met last week. He noted <br />that hotel tax collection for 2015 was up 3.6% in Mounds View. He was happy to report that the <br />International Broomball Tournament would be held at the National Sports Center in 2018, which <br />would mean teams from all over the world would be flying in for this event and staying at local <br />hotels. He indicated that Twin Cities Gateway was creating a video to be shown on Fox Sports <br />North that would promote seven local activities within the gateway communities. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending a Northeast Youth and Family <br />board meeting on Thursday. He noted Northeast Youth and Family Services would be hosting a <br />golf tournament called the Mayor’s Challenge on Monday, June 8 th at Keller Golf Course. The <br />fee was $150 per person, which included dinner. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked those who have served and continue to serve in the military and hoped <br />that residents in the community spent time reflecting on this service on Memorial Day. <br /> <br /> B.
