Mounds View City Council August 10, 2015 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn thanked the residents for participating in the National Night Out event. <br />She was pleased that she was able to attend a large number of the parties and get to know more <br />of her neighbors. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Officer Nate Garland for his spearheading the National Night Out event <br />for the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty reported the next Movie in the Park event would be held on Thursday, August <br />13, 2015 at Hillview Park at 7:47 p.m. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br />1. Finance 2 nd Quarter Report <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer reviewed the 2 nd Quarter Financial Report with the Council. He explained <br />that most departments were under budget at this time. He discussed the importance of having a <br />fund balance. He explained banquet center operations were up slightly in 2015. He was pleased <br />to report that the City had only one year remaining on the street improvement project. He then <br />discussed the State’s inflation and unemployment rates. He commented that the Finance <br />Department finished the 2015 audit in the 2 nd quarter and then began work on the 2016 Budget. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned who handled the rental of Lakeside Park. Finance <br />Director Beer reported that the City of Mounds View did manage the rentals. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Finance Director Beer for his thorough report. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the worksession agenda for September. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty was interested in discussing volunteerism at the September worksession meeting. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson was pleased to report that the City would have three or four <br />developments to review for Crossroad Pointe. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated Bethlehem Baptist was seeking a list of projects to fund. <br />He encouraged the Council to forward any ideas they may have to staff. <br /> <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. <br /> <br />There was nothing additional to report. <br /> <br />12.
