Resolution 8767, Approve Amendment to Agreement with Oertel Architects. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson requested the Council approve an amendment to the agreement <br />with Oertel Architects. He explained throughout the design process for the new Public Works <br />Facility additional work has been needed. He described the work Oertel Architects had <br />completed on behalf of the City and requested approval of the amendment to the agreement. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned what fund would be used to cover the overage. Public <br />Works Director Erickson stated the Special Project Fund would be used for the $16,000 expense. <br />Further discussion ensued regarding the overall bid for the project. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8767, <br />Approve Amendment to Agreement with Oertel Architects. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />F. Resolution 8773, Authorizing Advertisement for Hiring a Maintenance <br />Worker in the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane requested the Council authorize advertisement for hiring a <br />maintenance worker in the Public Works Department. She reported staff just got word that Jeff <br />Wienke would be retiring after 28 years of service and his last day with the City would be June <br />30th. Staff requested the Council allow the City to advertise for the hiring of a maintenance <br />worker. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8773, <br />Authorizing Advertisement for Hiring a Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller thanked Jeff Wienke for his 28 years of dedicated service to the City of Mounds <br />View. She wished him well in his retirement and stated he would be missed. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />10. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Hull reported he would be going on a sabbatical due the spreading of his <br />cancer. He explained his leg would need a special high dose chemo treatment. He indicated he <br />was uncertain of when he would return but stated his prognosis was good. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller wished him the very best and encouraged Council Member Hull to seek help <br />from his neighbors and friends at the City.
